Aug. 23 REFLECTIONS OF HOPE: AN EVENING OF ART AND WINE GALA Lafayette Natural History Museum & Planetarium. 433 Jefferson St. 7 p.m. Hosted by The American Cancer Society. The event will include a live and silent auction featuring items from Acadiana area artists and merchants. Guests will dine on an array of menu items from various local restaurants. During the gala, the American Cancer Society will also present its Spirit of Hope Award to area physicians, cancer survivors and other members of the community who have made significant contributions to the fight against cancer. FOURTH ANNUAL MARTINIS AND MASQUERADE City Club at River Ranch. 1100 Camellia Blvd., Lafayette 7 p.m. The event will include a silent auction, music, great food and martinis. The proceeds will help support programs offered by the Healing House. The Healing House offers support groups and activities for children who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling.
